During 2017 the PCC will co-commission new paediatric and adult Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARC) with NHS England, and is in discussion with Nottinghamshire County Council and county clinical commissioning groups to co-commission a new adult specialist sexual violence support service. In addition, the PCC is working with the City and County Councils to put specialist, dedicated support in place for adult survivors of abuse which took place whilst they were in institutional care such as children's homes ("historical institutional abuse"). Whilst some research into the needs of survivors has already been conducted by the PCC and others, the PCC wishes to commission independent research.
