How we make our decisions and what our decisions are

In order to be as transparent as possible we want to share as many of our decisions with you as we can.  The Decision Records page will be updated on a regular basis as and when decisions are made.

Decisions of significant public interest

The Commissioner has the sole legal authority to make a decision as the result of a discussion or based on information provided to them by the public, partner organisations, members of staff from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire(OPCCN) or Chief Constable.

Any decisions made that are thought to be of significant public interest will be published on the Decision Records page for the relevant year.

In determining whether a decision is of public interest the OPCCN will refer to guidance provided by the Information Commissioner and the Freedom of Information Act 2000.  Please also see our Joint Code of Corporate Governance and Working Together document found under General Policies on our Policies and Procedures page which has a section on the decision making process.
