Accountability Board
Holding to account
Part of the Police and Crime Commissioner's duty is to support, challenge and hold the Chief Constable to account for delivering an efficient and effective policing service for Nottinghamshire.
One of the ways they do this is by holding a bi-monthly Accountability Board. This meeting allows the PCC to scrutinise Nottinghamshire Police on behalf of the public.
During each meeting different issues or topics across our force area are spotlighted, which includes questions from members of the public.
This video shows an example of the Ask the Chief format. To see more, click links in the meetings tabs below.
Date of next Accountability Board:
Thursday 8 May
Topics: Tackling Hate Crime and Improving Community Cohesion; and Prevention in partnership – the work of the Force Prevention Hub.
If you'd like to Ask the Chief a question on these subjects, please get in touch by emailing mediaopcc@notts.police.uk
Deadline for questions: 16 April 2025

The overarching purpose of the Accountability Board is:
- to provide the public and other external stakeholders with confidence that the Police and Crime Commissioner is effectively supporting, challenging and holding the Chief Constable to account for delivering efficient and effective policing services; and,
- to monitor progress in delivering the objectives of the Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan and setting the strategic direction of local policing services.
