Nottinghamshire Fraud Partnership was formed in 2023 to work together to protect individuals and businesses in Nottinghamshire from fraudulent activity, and better support those who have been victimised.

It brings together key organisations including police, local authorities, businesses, education sector and charity partners to strengthen the fight against fraud by sharing information and best practice and collaborating on a wider reaching, focussed and consistent approach to the issue.

The partnership meets quarterly and is facilitated and administered by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire.

It was formed in response to the fact that fraud now accounts for more than 40% of all crime nationally and had risen by 51% in Nottinghamshire in 2023 compared to the pre-Covid baseline.

Our strategic objectives:

• Preventing fraud and protecting vulnerable people
  Improving public awareness of fraud and increasing our shared knowledge of the steps individuals and businesses take to best protect themselves from victimisation and repeat victimisation.
• Responding
  Improve partnership working in the response to fraud by making better use of the full range of tools and powers available to enforcement agencies. We will encourage reporting and work to improve the identification of victims.
• Supporting
  Help to remove the stigma and embarrassment associated with becoming a victim of fraud and work to clarify and strengthen common referral pathways for victims which effectively meet their needs.
• Collaborating
  Better understand the unique contribution each organisation can make in tackling and responding to fraud, clarifying roles, responsibilities, and leadership. We will also work to improve information sharing processes and build upon evidence of good practice in the multi-agency response to fraud.

Nottinghamshire Fraud Partnership Charter

Members of the partnership have signed up to the Fraud Partnership Charter, this sets out the commitments of the partnership and informs the group’s delivery plan. This allows progress to be tracked and monitored, whilst working toward our objectives.
