Commissioner Godden holds latest Accountability Board with Chief Constable

16 July 2024

A presentation was given on how Nottinghamshire Police is improving outcomes for victims of crime and antisocial behaviour, at Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden’s most recent Accountability Board.

Senior officers also told Commissioner Godden about the force’s activity to improve road safety during the monthly meeting.

A large part of Commissioner Godden’s role is to hold Nottinghamshire Police to account and ensure an effective policing service is being delivered for the people of the county and ensuring the public’s voice is being heard.

Each month, Commissioner Godden holds an accountability board meeting with the Chief Constable to discuss a range of topics relating to key performance indicators for Nottinghamshire Police and uses this time to scrutinise the efficiency and effectiveness of the force on behalf of the public.

On the agenda was an in-depth look at the current activity and approach to improving road safety, including work with Road Safety Partnerships and Community Speed Watch from Chief Inspector James Walker.

In addition this Superintendent Jon Foy gave a presentation to the board on improving outcomes for victims of crime and antisocial behaviour.

This concluded with an update from Chief Executive of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner Michelle Buttery on the ongoing College of Policing review.
