Police and Crime Commissioner Caroline Henry has paid tribute to all of the police officers, staff and volunteers working hard to ensure the people of Nottinghamshire have a safe and enjoyable festive season.

“While many people are currently taking time off work to enjoy Christmas dinner and spend time with family and friends – the force’s employees will keep providing the 24-hour service they provide all year round,” said Commissioner Henry.

“From those taking calls from people in distress, to those blue-lighting to the scene of a major incident where they never know quite what to expect, one thing our officers and staff all share is an unwavering commitment to public service.

“So I’d like to give a festive thank you to everyone keeping us safe this Christmas and New Year. I hope everyone in Nottinghamshire enjoys themselves safely and responsibly and spares a thought for our policing colleagues – as well as other emergency services – who they may hope not to see, but can always rely on in their hour of need.”
