Stopping keyless car thefts in Edwalton and Bingham are among the top priorities for a neighbourhood policing team.

Rushcliffe Inspector Tim Cuthbert has spoken to Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Caroline Henry about how his team has been tackling the thefts which are particularly affecting BMWs and Mercedes.

Other issues being tackled in the area include antisocial behaviour, after increased reports in East Leake, and deterring the theft of high value metals in rural areas, something Nottinghamshire Police is cracking down on across Nottinghamshire.

Commissioner Henry visited Inspector Tim Cuthbert at West Bridgford Police Station to hear how the neighbourhood policing team regularly reviews current issues on an ongoing basis and targets resources to meet the demand across the Rushcliffe neighbourhood policing area.

As an elected representative, a key part of Commissioner Henry’s role is to hold Nottinghamshire Police to account to ensure the public is getting the best possible policing service and local priorities are being addressed.
